Sai Kaew Beach sits inside a military zone south of Pattaya, around 30 minutes from the centre. Getting in is a three-stage run rather than a single gate: navigate to the Naval Rating School checkpoint and hand over your ID card there, drive about 1km to the ticket booth and pay 100 baht for adults or 50 baht for children, then pass a second checkpoint where the ticket is checked before the last 2km down to the sand. The water is noticeably clearer than Pattaya Beach and the sand rarely feels crowded, and there are restaurants, free toilets and showers, parking and loungers to rent for 40 baht. The drive in passes several viewpoints worth stopping at, though monkeys along the shore will help themselves to any unguarded snacks.
