Sattahip
Rob's take
"Less a destination than the reason the coast south of Jomtien is worth your time — a navy district where the development stops and the beaches get clean. Use it as the frame for a day out: pick one of the navy beaches, eat at a local seafood place in town, and carry an ID card, because most of the good sand sits behind a checkpoint."
Sattahip is a day-trip destination in Pattaya, within the greater Pattaya area of Chon Buri, Thailand.
Sattahip District forms the southern end of Chonburi province, along the coast beyond Pattaya and Jomtien. It is the home of the Royal Thai Navy's main base, and its shoreline stays quieter and less developed than the resort strips further north. Most visitors come for the beaches and the slower pace rather than nightlife.
