"The best place near Pattaya to run or cycle without taking your life in your hands — a ten-kilometre lane round the reservoir with the motorbikes kept off it. Go at first light or after five, because there's little shade and the middle of the day is brutal. Bikes and kayaks hire across the road, cafés all along it, and no toilets to speak of."
