It is walkable, there is live music most nights, the drinks are ordinary bar prices rather than club prices, and nobody is working very hard to get you through a door. If you only have one night and you want to enjoy it rather than survey it, start here — Walking Street is a ten-minute baht bus away if you decide you want the noise later."

LK Metro is a grid of pedestrian lanes off Soi Buakhao, packed with bars, live-music venues and small restaurants. It is the middle ground of Pattaya's nightlife: livelier and later than a beach-road bar, far less intense than Walking Street, and mixed enough in crowd that couples and groups of friends look no more out of place than anyone else. It gets going from around seven or eight in the evening.
