"The shaded strip below Pratumnak Hill where Jomtien proper begins, and the one beach along here you can comfortably walk at midday, thanks to the tree line and the paved path behind it. The water is nothing special, so come for the shade, the roadside Thai food and the sunset rather than a swim. Park at the north end, where the toilets are."

It is a more local, everyday stretch of sand than central Pattaya, and the sunsets draw a crowd.
